There are so many countries I’m dying to visit (Greece! Switzerland! Brazil!), but lately, I’ve been craving a destination wholly exotic and unknown. I’ve never stepped foot in Southeast Asia, but my sister and dear friends have returned from backpacking and teaching there with wonderful stories and adventures. Yet, for many people (including myself) the idea of planning a trip to Southeast Asia can be intimidating when, really, it’s extremely do-able.
It was with this idea in mind that I started a new series with DreamPlanGo about what to know before traveling to India, Malaysia, and Vietnam (currently working on Cambodia). The thread running through travel planning to any of these countries seems to involve arriving with common sense and understanding the value of goods, i.e., avoid getting ripped-off.
Have any of you traveled to Southeast Asia? What tips do you have for potential visitors? Thanks so much!
